The Britton Auditorium, part of a school built in the 1940s, was a complete exterior
remodel and structural upgrade. Weston Miles secured hardship and
emergency grants from the State Office of Public School Construction
in 1999 when large chunks of concrete started to fall off the auditorium
exterior.
The exterior spalled concrete panels were demolished and a new roof, new drainage,
and new and better reinforcement of the outer walls were added,
as well as ADA-compliant accessibility. New exterior light fixtures
add the finishing touch to the preservation of an historic landmark
the whole community can enjoy.
