San Martin Family Living Center is a unique project including a
small community center, childcare area and counseling space, as
well as eight emergency housing apartments and eighteen transitional
housing units. The facility was constructed using funds from CDBG,
Farmers Home and HUD. Challenges in developing the facility includedcomplex
funding sources, its small site, and working with multiple constituents
such as, the County of Santa Clara, the communities of
San Martin, Morgan Hill and Gilroy.
Weston Miles worked with the Emergency Housing Consortium and South
County Housing to present the project to local agencies and lead
public forums. Collaboration amongst owners, architects and the
public brought this project through to successful completion.
This project has won HUD awards every year since its inception.
