How We Work
We begin your project with a complete programming effort to understand; who will
use your space, how it will be used and when. In, Problem Seeking,
William Pena and Steven Parshall suggest an eye-opening approach
in understanding what the problem is that we are going to solve through
design. We start with an openness to understanding our clients unique
concerns.
Understanding your budget and schedule will allow us to help you
get a clear understanding of what can be completed from the programming
process.
Scheduling is the key to having your project succeed. For every
project we set up both and internal and external schedule, using
Microsoft
Project.
Although we have used AutoCAD for the past 16 years we have recently
trained the entire staff in ArchiCAD allowing us to design
and build construction drawings and a 3-d model at the same time.
This allows
you to actually experience the space through a fly-through
and
walk-through without adding extra cost as the 3-d renderings
are also the Construction
Documents. We spent several years looking at alternatives to
be able to better explain our drawings to our clients and to
contractors
and have found that this works very well. We are also able
to send and save files for Construction Managers and Contractors
who then
use BIM estimating software to provide estimates directly off
of our drawing files.
Construction Administration is a well organized approach with
a well developed internal process and experienced field staff.
With
State
of California, DSA school projects we use our in-house developed
online tracking tool in ensure Closed with Certification.
Sustainability is not and added service, but the cornerstone
of our design tool box.
